Tea of the Week | Lemongrass + Old Ginger + Pandan

Method:
Allow Lemongrass, Old Ginger and Pandan to boil for 1.5 hours, then add adequate amount of brown sugar will do. While others prefer skipping the addition of Pandan, or replacing brown sugar to rock sugar or honey, it ultimately depends on one's personal preference. The taste may alter slightly, but the difference isn't huge.

Health Benefits:
Lemongrass can aid in arthritis treatment, and is good for mild headache, gastric pain, stomach pain, diarrhoea and balancing of menstrual cycle. It can also help in reducing post pregnancy swelling. The combination of Lemongrass, Old Ginger and Pandan can help treat cough, flu, inflammation and arthritis. It also improves the digestive system and reduce bloating, while soothing and warming the stomach.

Word of Caution:
Side effects are not likely to occur under adequate consumption.

Other Common Uses:
There are people who enjoy blending apple and Lemongrass juice as it is said to help in the regeneration of knee cartilage. Others prefer making different sorts of health drinks such as Lemongrass and Pandan tea, Lemongrass and Lemon drink, or Lemongrass with a few red dates.
