Blue Pea Flower (Clitoria Ternatea)

  • 5 to 8 dried butterfly pea flowers
  • 1 c. water
  • Sweetener or lemon/lime for serving, optional
Instructions
  1. Put the flowers in a 8 oz. tea cup or mug.
  2. Bring the water towards a boil but remove just before boiling. Pour over flowers and steep 2 to 4 minutes depending on desired strength.
  3. Sweeten with Stevia or honey if desired, or chill and serve with lemon.

Add some lime or lemon juice, the blue tea will turn purple

My very own homemade pulut tai tai

The process....soaked the glutinous rice overnight.  The blue portion is from the water extract of dried clitoria flowers plucked from our community garden.
Poured some coconut milk over the rice..steamed for about 30mins before adding the rest of the coconut milk and steamed for another 30 mins.
When they are cooked, mixed them together.
Transferred to a high glass tray and pressed the rice together
 Turned over for this effect.

Felt satisfied......:)
